| 100-yr-old widow murdered by son | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 26: A widow aged over 100 years was stoned to death by his son in a fit of anger at their residence at Sureyachak near Satwari Friday morning.
Quoting neighbours, police sources said Darshan Lal (45), who often lost his mental balance over trivial issues, had a record of entering into brawls with family members and people outside.
Today also, there was some problem at home due to which he hit a heavy stone or a brick on the head of his aged mother, Tano Devi, resulting in her instant death.
Darshan fled home soon after the incident that took place at about 10 am. He was arrested from the village periphery in the evening.Police reached the spot after the matter was brought to their notice
by Darshan's neighbours. After completing legal formalities, police removed the body to hospital where post-mortem was conducted on it. Later, it was handed over to her family members for last rites.
Police had registered a murder case against Darshan.
