| DDC reviews progress of banks at DLRC meeting | | | Early times Report Samba, Mar 27: The lead bank office of SBI organized DLRC meeting of bankers and district officers of various government departments to reviews the flow of credit under ACP-2009-10, performance of bank in keys areas relating to deposits advances and priority sector lending for the quarter ended December 2009. The district development commissioner (DDC) Saurabh Bhagat, chaired the meeting and had thread bare review of SGSY/JKSES/SC-ST-OBC/KVIB/KVIB/DIC/SJSRY etc with special emphasis on prime minister employment guarantee scheme, small and medium enterprises DIR, SHG’s, KCC, swaropgar credit cards, women beneficiaries in general and financial literary in particular. Lead district manager, RK Mehta apprised that a sum of Rs. 110.96 cr. Was disbursed upto December 2009, out of which Rs. 79.16 was dispensed under priority sector covering agriculture/ small enterprises/ micro credit/ retail/ housing, education and others. Against a bench-mark of 40% under PS lending, the bankers in the district have achieved approx. 68% which was lauded by the house samba district in the state so far as the credit deposit ratio is concerned with 51.7% achievement. Bhagat exhorted the banks and KVIB/KVIC/DIC to work in close liaison to ensure hassle-free financial assistance and successful implementation of ‘PMEGP’ scheme. He said that PMEGP a new credit linked subsidy programme has been introduced for generation of employment opportunities through establishment of micro enterprises in rural as well as urban areas.
