| Pollution makes villagers life miserable | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kathua, Mar 27: The residents of Maroli, Govindsar, Kharote, Hatlimorh, Rishinagar, Taranagar and Sawan Chack called on Sr. Superintendent of police, Garib Dass and apprised him about the problems created by the pollution which comes out from paper, metals and cements factories, located in the district. Deputation led by political leader of the area, S. Surinder Singh said, villagers are suffering from various dangerous diseases like Kidney, heart, liver, inflammation and skin cancer etc. He said that number of kids and new born babies are directly affected with the dangerous and hazardous gasses emitted from these cement, metals and paper industries and suffering from skeletal floursis trouble in the adjoining area of the industries that the village Maroli, Govindsar, Taranagar, Sawan Chowk even the entire Kathua is in the grip of industrial pollution and added department of pollution control board to take bribe by illegal means along with local administration and from the industrialists. Singh along with his associates Harjeet Singh, Vinod Sharma, and Jagdeep Singh also demanded the enquiry about the industries which are not following the rules and regulation of the pollution control board. The SSP Garib Dass heard the deputation patiently and assured that legal action would be taken against those owners of the industries who are playing with the lives of the people by violation the norms of pollution.
