| Teenage girl raped, burnt alive in Udhampur | | | JAMMU: In a most gruesome incident, a teenaged girl was Saturday raped and then burnt alive by some unidentified persons at Majalta in Udhampur.
Police sources said the half-burnt body of a 17-year-old girl was recovered from a tin-shed at Majalta by police on a tip-off. After the matter was brought to his notice, Majalta police station
SHO, Inspector Arvinder Kotwal reached the spot and examined the spot. After the completion of legal formalities, the body was shifted to hospital.
Sources said preliminary investigation revealed that the girl was first raped and then set afire by the accused. Police had registered a case in this connection. Though some suspects were questioned, there was no report of any of them having been taken into custody.
