JKNTUF to support EJAC strike call

JAMMU, Mar 28: Jammu and Kashmir National Trade Union Front (JKNTUF) today decided to support the four-day strike call as given by Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) from April 3 to 6, 2010 to pressurize the government for fulfilling the 'genuine' demands of the employees.
Talking to the media persons here, Mohammad Gafoor Dar, president JKNTUF and senior leader of EJAC appealed the employees of the State to observe 'Kam Chodo Hartal' from April 3 to 6 in support of their 'genuine' demands.
The employees have been demanding release of arrears of 6th pay commission, HRA and retirement age at par with Central government employees, removal of pay anomalies, uniform wages policy for temporary workers and regularization of daily rated workers engaged after 1994 besides other demands.
The leader urged the employees having affiliation with JKNTUF to mobilize the employees of other departments to hold protest demonstrations and rallies at respective tehsil and district head quarters and show unity to display the strength of the working class in the state.
