| 'Separate school boards for Jammu and Kashmir regions' | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 28: Association of Students-Parents Jammu (ASPJ) have demanded establishment of separate Board of School Educations for Jammu and Kashmir regions. A meeting of the association held here today under the Chairmanship of its President Kulbushan Mohetra wherein members alleged discrimination against students from Jammu, appearing in Matriculation and Higher Secondary Examinations, in respect of question papers set in the examinations as well as evaluation. Mohetra alleged that paper set for these examinations for students from Kashmir valley, who come under the summer zone is much easier as compared to the question paper set for the students of Jammu region falling under winter zone. He said that since separate examinations are held for the students in the two regions, the need of the hour is that separate School Boards should be set up for two regions. The association also expressed serious concern over frequent leakages of examination papers. The 'corrupt' board authorities are playing with the careers of the students, they said. The cancellation of examinations on account of leakage causes good deal of inconvenience and hardship to upright students, while the employees of Jammu Kashmir Board of School Education who indulge in these malpractices in connivance with some unscrupulous elements, go scot free, alleged Mohetra adding no deterrent punishment is accorded to these corrupt elements. He demanded action against such officials of the Board as well as their accomplices.
