| Rehabilitation of 117 militancy affected vehicle operators in offing | | | Srinagar, October 13 - Rs.4.56 crore would be provided loan on moderate rate of interest to 117 militancy-affected drivers and cleaners of Kashmir Division. This would be a part of various initiatives started by the government to rehabilitate the militancy-affected people. The decision in this regard was taken at a high level meeting chaired by the Minister for Social Welfare, Haji Nissar Ali, here today. Secretary Social Welfare Mr. Asgar Samoon, Special Secretary Planning Mrs. Roma Wani, Managing Director SC and ST Corporation Mr. V. C. Sharma and Deputy General Manager J&K Bank were present in the meeting. It was given out in the meeting that the loan component would comprise of 40% by National Minority Finance and Development Corporation (NMFDC), 40% by JK Bank, 10% by State Corporation for SC, ST and OBC and 10% marginal money would be kept by the prospective beneficiaries. The loan would be redeemed by the beneficiaries in easy installments. All these 117 militancy affected drivers and cleaners have been identified by the respective Deputy Commissioners of Kashmir division in consultation with Kashmir Motors and Drivers Union.
