| Shastri urges CM to release 8% DA to employees, pensioners | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 28: President of the national mazdoor conference (NMC) Subash Shastri, has appealed the chief minister, Omar Abdullah to release the pending installment of 8% DA due from January this year in favour of the state government employees and pensioners well before Baisakhi festival, as the same has already been released by the central government in favour of its employees and pensioners. Addressing a rally of NMC workers here today, Shastri said that the state government has already funds for this purpose in the current financial year state budget and said that by releasing this installment, the salaried class will have a sigh of relief as the rising prices of essentials commodities have already crossed the price index, which has created number of hardships to them. He also hoped that the state government would pay his special attention to the other pending demands of the working class especially removal of anomalies in the SRO 93 and those of the workers who have been employed as daily wages but were not regularized even after the expiry of seven to fifteen years of there working. He said that the plight of such workers taken into account are getting over aged and more so that rise in the prices of the essential commodities have meet their life miserable. Shastri also focused the attention of the state government to the long pending demands of the employees included early payment of 6th pay commission arrears, raise the HRA Among those who also addressed the rally included Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kochar, Sham lal Sharma, Darshan Lal and others.
