| Punjabi Literature contributes lot during freedom struggle: Chib | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 28: Saying that Punjabi is the one of the richest Literature of the world, the Minister for Medical Education and Technical Education, R S Chib, has said that the Punjabi authors contributed a lot during Indian Freedom struggle. Addressing a function at Miran Sahib today, organized by Punjabi Sahitak Sabha, the Minister lauded the efforts of organization for promotion of Punjabi and also remembering the contributions made by various Punjabi authors from time to time in providing awareness among the masses for the services of the Nation. On the occasion, the Minister honoured renowned Punjabi poets late Harnam Singh Yachak and late Trilok Singh Nirbal posthumously. He presented a citation and a memento each to their wives. He said that late poets have made a tremendous contribution in promoting Punjabi literature and would be remembered for ever. The Minister released a book "Animals around Man" by Prof Anmol Singh on the occasion. MLC T S Wazir also spoke on the occasion at length and said that Punjabi literature played a great role in creating awareness among the masses for the service of the Country. President Punjabi Sahitak Sabha, Miran Sahib, Bhupinder Singh Bhargava, also spoke on the occasion. The function was attended by a large number of people, besides intellectuals, literates and Punjabi language lovers.
