| Shakti Dal leaders join BJP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 28: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today got shot in arms when state president of Shakti Dal, Kuldeep Sharma along with members of his team and hundreds of supporters merged with the party at its headquarters here. The new entrants were welcomed into party folds by the state president of the party, Shamsher Singh Manhas and Leader of Legislature Party, Chaman Lal Gupta who garlanded them. Speaking on the occasion, Manhas claimed that the BJP is not only a political party but a mission which has all along worked for full integration of the State with rest of the country and sacrificed a number of its top leaders while fighting for abrogation of the Special Status granted under Article 370. "Be it Praja Parishad, Jana Sangh or Bharatiya Janata Party, our cadres have always fought for the cause of the people in the state, Jammu region in particular," he further claimed. Manhas asserted that people from different shades of life have realized that it is the only political party which is committed for them and not power hungry like NC, PDP and Congress. Gupta said that joining of Kuldeep Sharma would further boost the morale of the party activists and it would emerge as strong force with the support of the people who have joined BJP alongwith him. He also accused the National Conference, PDP and Congress, of "discriminating" Jammu, besides promoting the cause of the anti-national elements in the State. Kuldeep Sharma, after registering him as the basic member of the party, said that he has joined BJP unconditionally and would work for strengthening the party at grass root level.
