| Release water in Ranbir canal demands SS | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 29: Keeping in view increase in day temperature due to which crops and vegetable in the region have started decaying due to not availability of irrigation water. Addressing the Sangram Sena (SS) activist at a meeting here today its general secretary Rattan Singh Langeh said one fails to understand why government is not in a mood to release water in Ranbir Canal, at an earliest. He said the irrigation minister some time back said that water will be release in Ranbir canal from March 15, but now the minister changes his statements and says canal will open from April 15. He said if water is not release within days, there is every apprehension that all crops and vegetables will get rotten. He requested the chief minister to interfare in the matter, so that irrigation minister will be compel to order early opening of canal. He warned the government of the consequences of canal is not open with four days, which will compel farmers to come on roads. Among others present in the meeting were R Rain, US Langeh, Thoru Ram, Parshotam Lal, Narayanan Singh, Beli Ram, Balbir Singh, Malu Ram, Jagtar Singh Chib and Raju Jamwal.
