| VOJ presented challan against Patwari | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 29: Vigilance Organization Jammu (VOJ) presented challan against Patwari Padam Dev Sharma then Patwari Halqa Chinore Jammu, who was caught red-handed on July 28, 2009 while demanding and accepting Rs 2500 from the complainant, in the Court of Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu. According to the case that on July 28, 2009 complainant Bimla Devi wife of Lt Jaggar Singh of Chinore has lodged a written complaint with the VOJ in which she submitted that her husband was not a state-subject holder and he purchased a piece of land 10 marlas on the name of her brother Raj Kumar and constructed a house upon that land. After the death of her husband she asked his brother to transfer the land on her name. Her brother told her that she approached to concerned Patwari to get the land registered in her name. According to her, she approached Patwari who demanded Rs 10,000 as bribe for providing the Fard of the land. She being a poor lady could arrange only Rs 2500 and asked the Patwari to issue Fard in her name. The Patwari asked her to come at his house. The lady filed a complaint, on this complaint VOJ registered a FIR NO 15/2009 u/s 5(2) PC Act 2006 r/w section 161 RPC and constituted a trap team to laid trap at the house of the Patwari and caught him red-handed while accepting Rs 2500 from the complainant as bribe. After recovery of the bribe money, the said Patwari was arrested and bailed out from the Court. Today after completion of the investigation challan was presented in the Court. --JNF
