JAMMU, March 29: Department of Law and Business School won table tennis matches in men and women sections respectively in the ongoing Inter-Department Sports Meet of University of Jammu at Gymnasium Hall, here today.
In the men’s table tennis match, Department of Law trounced Department of Political Sciences 2-0 to move into the next round. The Results: Lovejeet Singh bt Pawandeep Singh 9-11, 11-3, 11-2; Azar Usman Khan bt Kewal Singh 11-3, 11-2.
Other two matches ended in walkovers. While Business School got walkover Department of Urdu, Department of Commerce awarded walkover Department of Chemistry.
Meanwhile in women section, Business School registered a 2-1 win over Department of Commerce 2-1. The Results: Singles: Venika Saini lost to Ashiana Gupta 11-3, 11-5; Anjali Pathania bt Gonika Sabharwal 11-7, 8-11, 11-3. Doubles: Venika and Anjali bt Ashiama and Gonika 11-7, 11-8.
CARROM: In men’s carrom competitions, Department of Political Sciences defeated Department of MCA 2-0 to sail into the next round. The Results: Pawandeep Singh bt Sunny Kumar while Sunil Singh bt Naveed Anjum.
Today’s matches were officiated byRamesh Magotra, Ravish Vaid, Sunaina and Meenakshi.
