| Delhi Police registers murder case to ascertain killing of Irshad | | Police Commissioner of Delhi informs state about thorough investigation launched to hunt the culprit | | Srinagar, October 13– In reply to the state government’s communication to Delhi Police asking for investigation and report into the killing of Irshad of Srinagar, the Commissioner of Police Delhi K. K. Paul has informed the state that case of murder under section 302 IPC has been registered by Delhi Police and thorough investigation has been launched. In a letter to this effect, the Commissioner of Police Delhi says “the injured who was identified later as Irshad R/o Srinagar, was found in an absolutely naked condition on the road side in the morning of 8.10.2006 by a passer by who reported the matter to the police. At the time of his admission to the hospital, the deceased was alive and managed to give his phone number and also uttered the words Lal Chowk, but later died in the hospital. The case was initially registered under section 308 IPC but later changed to 302 IPC after his death”. He further said “the deceased used to stay in Gurgaon but had moved to Delhi on October 6, 2006. His presence in Delhi is confirmed through the telephone calls made by him to Srinagar to his relations”. The Commissioner of Police Delhi has further informed that investigation is being done under close supervision of senior officers. |
