| CPI holds demonstration against coalition government | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 30: Activists of the Communist Party of India (CPI) today held a protest demonstration against the coalition government, in support of demand for release of sixth pay commission arrears. Led by CPI MPs -- D Raja and Aziz Parshah, over 300 activists took out the protest march in the city over the alleged failure of the state government to check price rise and to pay sixth pay commission arrears to the government employees. They tried to march towards civil secretariat but were intercepted by the police. They later sat on dharna for over an hour and later dispersed. "We want the state government to pay attention to the demand of the government employees. They should be paid the pay commission arrears," Raja told reporters here. He also criticised the State and Central governments for price rise.
