| J&K litterateur and veteran scientist get Vandemataram National awards | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 30: Young litterateur of Jammu & Kashmir, Satish Vimal and renowned scientist and Gandhian Dr S N Subba Rao won this year's prestigious Vandemataram National Awards. The awards were given away to these two eminent Indians for their trend- setting contribution in their respective fields. This award function was held at Scindia Palace in Gwalior last night. It was attended by Shri Narayan Singh Kushwaha,the Home Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Smt Yashodhara Raje Scindia, the member of Parliament from Gwalior, Sh K S Solanki, Member Rajya Sabha and President of Vandemataram National Awards Committee among others. Satish Vimal 's unique contribution to Indian literature and his trend setting philosophical poetry made him to the top among the very high profiled list of writers and journalists nominated for the award while as Dr Subha Rao won the award for his lifetime contribution to Scientific development and propagation of Gandhian thought in the country and at international level. In his address, Dr Subba Rao emphasised on the need of creating a universal vision in young India and that vision can only lead us to the heights at international level. Dr Satish Vimal, in his address, said that true literature mirrors humanity and he is proud to own the legacy of Abhinav Gupta and Ananda Vardhana, the great internationally renowned philosophers who represent Kashmir's universal mindset. The award carried a huge trophy of Vagya Devi, a citation, Shreephal and a shawl in addition to a cash award. Later, Smt Yashodhra Raje Scindhia, Sh K S Solanki,MPs and the Home Minister of MP hosted a joint dinner at Hotel Royal Regency at Gawalior.
