| Patwari caught accepting bribe | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 30: The state vigilance organisation (SVO) today arrested a patwari at Rajnagar in Budhal, Rajouri, red-handed for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe from a man.
SVO sources said patwari halqa Rajnagar had allegedly been demanding Rs 3,500 from a man for issuing him a house title verification certificate.
When the patwari refused to issue the certificate till he paid him Rs 3,500, the man lodged a written complaint with SVO.
Acting on the complaint, the SVO men laid a trap and arrested the patwari red-handed at Rajnagar while accepting Rs 3,500 as bribe, the sources added.
The patwari was then arrested and booked under section 5(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act read with section 161 of RPC.
