| SC, ST, OBC Mahasabha opposes IDR Bill | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 30: The J&K SC, ST and OBC Mahasabha has criticized the state government over the proposed ban on Inter-District Recruitment (IDR) through a Bill to be introduced in the State Legislature in current session of Assembly. Addressing media persons here today, chairman of the Mahasabha, Suchet Singh said that the government should not introduce the proposed Bill; otherwise the Mahasabha would hold agitation against the same by coming on roads. He demanded that OBC community must be provided with 27 percent reservation in the state, as per the Constitution of India. Suchet Singh further said that the benefits of women reservation should also be extended to categories of OBC, SC and ST so that the women belonging to these communities make progress and attain equality to their male counter parts. Among those present during the media interaction were Labha Ram Gandhi, Mela Singh, Bodh Raj Bhagat, Ashok Basotra, Capt Hari Chand and Khadim Hussain.
