| Samaj Sudhar Committee oppose legislators' salary hike | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 30:Jammu and Kashmir State Samaj Sudhar Committee has criticized the government for putting burden on the state exchequer by proposing unprecedented hike in the salaries and pension of legislators. Addressing media persons here today, state president of Committee, Yousuf Wani said that the hike in the salaries of Ministers and legislators would cost Rs 6.50 crore. He said on the other hand the government has no funds to release the arrears to the employees for implementing the recommendations of the 6th pay commission; daily wagers are not being regularized, and unemployment is rising with each passing day. Wani further said that the people are suffering for lack of ration supplies, water, and electricity facilities. But the ministers and leaders are still looking for their vested interests without mitigating the sufferings of the general masses of the state. He stated that J&K State Samaj Sudhar Commitie would make all efforts to educate the general public to fight for their rights through processions and rallies.
