| SDP criticizes rehabilitation policy | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 30: Socialistic Democratic Party (SDP) while criticizing the Government's proposed rehabilitation of stranded youth across the border maintained that there were lakhs of unemployed youth in the state and government has failed to provide employment opportunities to them. Addressing media persons here today, President SDP Dr Darakhshan Andrabi alleged that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was repeating the meaningless statement of rehabilitating the stranded militants in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK) when both India and Pakistan are passing through very strained relations and there is no possibility of Pakistan's support to Omar's hypothetical proposal. It is only a sentimentalist political gimmick which his party leaders have been playing for the last more than 60 years, she commented and said that Omar's much hyped employment package announced by the Finance Minister last year have failed to serve the purpose and the youth of the state were still waiting for their rehabilitation. Dr Andrabi further said that Chief Minister should care about nationalist forces and empower the educated youth by providing them opportunities for a better future. SDP president also criticized the coalition government for allotting government projects and contracts to the kith and kin of the party leaders and workers.
