| Bifurcate state level Directorate ayurvedic congress | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 31: All J&K Ayurvedic Congress has demanded the bifurcation of the state level Directorate and establishing provincial Directorates to mitigate the sufferings of the Ayurvedic fraternity, today. Addressing the media persons, President of the Congress Dr. T. R. Gupta said that expressed concern and anguish over administrative apathy regarding role of Indian System of Medicines, due to which majority ISM professionals are the worst sufferers. He further said that hundereds of unemployed personal were enlisted as pharmacists on experience basis and subsequently provided Chemists Licencese making them self reliant, on the other hand government has failed to issue licenses to our professionals. . It is pertinent to mention here that in our state, the registration of ISM practitioners is governed under Jammu Kashmir Ayurvedic Unani practitioners act 1959 (JKUAP). Jammu Kashmir Ayur-vedic Congress demanded legal protection of non-registered ISM practitioners. Other demands being highlighted included regularization of 95 ISM Dispensaries which have been opened during last three decades functioning on internal arrangement, provision of staff for 45 single handed dispensaries, creation of administrative posts for newly created districts, re-designation of ISM department as AYUSH Department on the pattern of centre and other states, creation of two posts of B-grade specialist in each district in order to provide specialist expertise for ailing masses, and establishment of block level administrative infrastructure.
