JAMMU, Mar 31: Support-ing the demand that that a person from Jammu region be appointed as the Vice Chancellor of the upcoming Jammu Central University , Jammu State Morcha today held a meeting of the office bearers today. Prof Virender Gupta chaired the meet. A meeting of the office bearers of the Jammu State Morcha was held today with Prof. Virender Gupta in the Chair and members Advoc-ate Abdul Rouf Ganai, Sh. H.B.Khjuria, Capt. Anil Gour, Dig Vijay Singh, Cha-ndra Uday Sharma, Virender Magotra, Divender Singh Jamwal, Balvinder Singh and Surjeet Singh attended. Prof Gupta said that Vice Chan-cellor of Jammu Central University be appo-inted out of the experts belonging to Jammu region. He alleged that the University had become a hub of anti- India and pro-separatist political activities instead of becoming the hub of academic excellence, as being claimed. The University funds were misused and bungled and the statutes of the University were floated for the convenience of the then Vice- Chancellor. He also demanded that an enquiry be conducted for the administrative and financial actions taken in the University during past 6-7 years to bring out the factual truth regarding the functioning of the University under the then Vice - Chancellors. He said that this year financial allocations for Jammu University is Rs 9 crore of development funds as against Rs 46 crore marked for the development of Kashmir University? It speaks of the casual approach or the present Vice Chance-llor of the University of Jammu and the administration under him, whereas it also reflects the biased attitude of the present N.C and Kashmir dominated Government of J&K |
