Udhampur, October 13: Father of a Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militant outfit was arrested under Public Safety Act. Details available indicate that District Magistrate Udhampur issued a warrant for arrest to one Haji Nizam-ud-Din R/O Reyasi Udhampur and ordered his detention for two years.
The security forces had, according to police, killed two militants who had planned to attack Vaishno Devi temple and who had stayed in the house of Haji Nizam-ud-Din before leaving for the planned mission. The bid, according to police, was foiled, well in time. Anwar, the son of Haji Nizam-ud-Din, is, according to police, an active militant of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen and operates in Anantnag district in Kashmir valley.
