| 'Paper leakage' hit masses authorities yet to wake up from Slumber | | |

While the mastermind of the paper leakage scam who played with the future of the students of 10th and 12th standard has attracted attention of all sane elements in civil society, the concerned authorities are yet to wake up.
This is not the first time when authorities of JKBOSE and other involved agencies failed to restore faith of the people earlier paper of class 8th was leaked. And if recalled board and police ad failed to restore confidence of people by failing to get all those who were involved in 'mass cheating case' reported at Karan nagar in 2002 making people to lose faith in educational system.
Recently question papers of Chemistry A and B, Botany A, and Physics B were leaked out and fresh papers were set up that too in haste making people to get suspicious about the concerned authorities.
An official of the JKBOSE on the condition of anonymity informed that Supervisory staff in the examination centers of the far-flung areas is provided almost one week before the examination date raising the apprehensions of leakage of the question papers.
Interestingly, the JKBOSE authorities has been ordering the 'Supervisory staff' of the concerned centers in the Jammu city to surrender the question paper issued earlier to them to avoid the losses because of alleged leakage however the far remote areas ar exceptional cases in this paper surrender order.
Orders passed in haste itself have raised question mark over the functioning of the examination wing of the JKBOSE, some parents alleged.
Some students appearing for the said examination alleged that the question papers were available at throw away prices on the day of the examinations but on higher rate a day or two before the exams. They further said that the question papers were available in various areas of Jammu region.
Despite the assurances by the concerned authorities to apprehend the accused, the kingpin of the scam is still at large.
Meanwhile the President of the Association of Students Parents Kulbhushan Mohtra in a press conference has stated that JKBOSE is doing nothing to nail down the culprits involved in the scam whether it is from the JKBOSE or Supervisory Staff or other persons involved.
He alleged that it is conspiracy to attack student of the Jammu psychologically so that they can not compete with the other students form valley or other parts of the country even if they score high in the examinations by resorting to such unfair means.
President Jan Jagriti Manch (JJM)-social organization, Parveen said that this is old issue but gained publicity this year.
However between all this fuss and chaos for students and parents, the Chairman of the Board Prof Desh Bandhu maintained said that we are trying to apprehend the culprits behind the alleged leak as enquiry has been initiated ad anybody ranging from peon to the higher officials found involved in this issue will not be spared. He further said that we are committed to provide to healthy examination system to the students
