| CTA condemn harassment of college teacher by JU authorities | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 1: The college teachers association (CTA) in a meeting chaired by its president Dr Sanjay Verma took stock of the situation arising due to the manipulated allegations and harassment meted out against one of the fraternity members Dr Romesh Gupta, department of statistics of government MAM College Jammu. In this regard members of association met the principal of college Dr MS Baloria and discussed the matter with him. Dr Baloria informed the association that a hasty decision was taken by him in this regard and he would constitute an enquiry committee in the case so that the aggrieved professor gets full opportunity to be heard and to plead his case. As per press release association has condemned the hasty action taken by the university authorities in this regard without holding an enquiry in the matter and castigating the said teacher without giving him an opportunity to be heard. In this regard association also met the acting vice chancellor and controller and impressed upon them they should first enquire about the incident and then pass the judgement based on facts. Besides association appeals to the concerned quarters to hold an independent enquiry in the matter and to take stern action against the persons found guilty as the allegation is not against the single teacher but against the whole teaching fraternity. The meeting was attended by Dr Sudanshu Kumar, Dr Satinder Kour, Dr Sunil Gupta, Dr Anil Ganjoo, Prof Narayan Dutt, Prof Haqiqat Singh and Prof. Vishal Sharma.
