| Kashmiri Chakri enthralls Audience | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 1: A Kashmiri musical evening was organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages at Abhinav Theatre in Jammu. The programme started with the welcome address by secretary, JKAACL, Zaffar Iqbal Manhas. In his address, Zafar welcomed the distinguished guests and the large gathering present there and elaborated on the future programmes of JKAACL. The first Kashmiri Chakri was presented by Abdul Rashid Hafiz, followed by Keemu’s scintillating presentation which was appreciated by the large gathering in the auditorium. People were on their facts and seen clapping all the time. This item was followed by another Chakkri, sung by famous Manzoor Shah. Last, but not the least, item was presented by renowned singer Gulzar Ganai, which mesmerized the audience. This was for the first time, when these all four singers were accompanied by 17 instrumentalists include 4 on matka (not), six were playing Rabab and the rest were having sarangi in their hands. The set was beautifully decorated and the music direction for the chakkri was given by Pt. Krishan Langoo on the state. The whole programme was compared by Mitali, Speakers Legislative assembly Mohd. Akbar Lone was the chief guest. Those who were present on the occasion include minister for finance Abdul Rahim Rather, MLA’s choudhary Ramzan, Abdul Haq Khan, Rafi Mir, Abdul Gaffer Safi, Abdul Razak Zaroora, Dr Shafi, Relief Commission Vinod Koul, Sham Koul and many other. Savita Bakshi and Shameema Akter, Addl. Sec. JKAACL were also present.
