| Contempt petition filed against CS, CM | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 1: Contempt petition was filed in State High Court Jammu regarding making functional State Accountability Commission (SAC) as per the statement made by the Advocate General regarding appointment of Chairperson and Members of the SAC in February 2010, on the behalf of respondents, the petition was disposed of as settled on January 1, 2010. In the contempt petition filed through Advocate A K Sawhney with Adv Aseem Sawhney in which it has been submitted that despite lapse of two months February and March respondents have not stood by the statement made by them through Advocate General and the State Accountability Commission has not been made functional as yet as per the statement of respondents made before the High Court. The contempt petition registered under No Contempt OWP 41/2010 which was filed by one Iftikhar Khan Salaria in which it has been submitted that making a wrong statement before the Court amounts to Contempt of the Court and since the respondents have backtracked from the commitment / statement made in the High Court, the petitioner is left with no other option than to move the present contempt petition against the S S Kapoor IAS Chief Secretary and Omar Abdullah Chief Minister of J&K ( Chairman Committee for appointment of Chairperson and Members of the J&K State Accountability Commission under the J&K Accountability Commission Act ) for having committed Contempt of the Court.
