Lakshya romps home success through drug abuse workshop

Jammu, April 1: Appreciating the role of Lakshya-the aim, an NGO pioneering in the field to undertake various project to disseminate the education among the masses over the drugs addiction Minister of Medical and Technical Education R S Chib laid emphasis on the need for the budding youth to promote the cause in right perspective.
“There is an urgent need for such initiatives to be taken regularly so that the upcoming youth may be guided for better future,” said Chib.
He was speaking at a function organized by Lakshya-the aim during One day workshop on the drug addiction held at Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research, Raipur Nardni to guide the youth about the menace of the abuse.
The workshop started with a welcome address presented by the president Raveesh Sharma of The Lakshya who stressed on need to fight unitedly for Drug free society.
Papers over the drug addiction were read out by the students of different faculties of the institute that were highly acclaimed by the sizeable audience that had gathered on the occasion to be the part of the workshop. Those who read the papers on the topic included Hari Salathia, Gauri and Himani Khajuria.
The main attraction of the programme was the skit presented by Lakshya-the aim, Four Idiots written ad directed by Abhishke Magotra and Raveesh Mengi, president and vice president of the organization. On the need of the day to fight unitedly
The gist of the skit was about the Gen X’s recent shift of psyche towards the ills of the society in which drug abuse is the main factor. The players presented a soulful production that really was the pick of the workshop. Those who enacted include Amit Gupta, Gauri, Gunjan Sharma, Ritumbra Jamwal, Vishal Pathak and Abhishek Magotra.
Another highlight was the song presentation by Shivankar Bharti, the student of JIAR who has recently proved his prowess in India’s Got Talent on Colors.
A dance item by Ravia and the group was another melodious highlight that made the show quite happening besides being the informative also.
The workshop was held by Lakshya-the aim in association with Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research.
The guest of honour, Dr Roop Lal Sharma while speaking on the occasion observed that the inventiveness mooted by Lakshya would go a long way in promotion of healthy and drug free society.
