| CJM awarded two year jail for Bangladesh national | | | Sarita Jamwal Early Times Report Udhampur, Apr 2: Cheif Judical Mgaustrate Udhampur M.K Sharma has awarded two years jail and imposed ten thousands fine to a Bangladeshi National for illegaly residing in the area under 14 Foreigner's Act. In a judgement announced here the accused Mehboob Ul Rehman Son of Rustam Ali resident of Bahu Sayed Bangla Desh guility , the court has sentenced him to RI of two years and imposed a fine of 10,000 accused was arrested on 26.2.2009 from Rehmbal area of Udhampur during routine checking of police . The accused during investigation revealed that he trespassed into the Indian Territory and was staying in different cities of the country from a long time and was presently residing in Udhampur area from past some time without having passport . The challan was produce before court and during the trial the accused confessed his offence. The learned Magistrate recorded the confession statement made by the accused and certified that the statement made by the accused is voluntary. The accused was convicted for the commission of offence punishable u/s 14 Foreigner's Act and is sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for two years and fine of Rs.10,000/-.
