| DEO Kathua notifies dates for filing claims and objections | | |

KATHUA, Apr 2: District Election Officer (DEO), Kathua has extended the period for filing claims and objections for ten days for summary revision of electoral rolls in respect of Municipal Councils/ Committees with reference to January 1, 2010 as the qualifying date as per the revised schedule.
Date of publication of draft rolls is March 22, 2010, period of filing claims/objections is from March 22, 2010 to April 10, 2010, disposal of claims/ objections is April 12, 2010, preparation and printing of supplements of additions, deletions and corrections is from April 17, 2010 to April 20, 2010 and final publication of electoral rolls will be April 24, 2010.
The DEO has notified that interested/eligible persons attaining the age of 18 years by or before January 1, 2010, the qualifying date and have not been enrolled or have any objection their entries in the relevant electoral rolls can file their claims/objections in the prescribed forms with the Electoral Registration Officer/Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of the Municipal Council/ Committees during the office hours.
No claim and objection will be entertained after the expiry of last date i.e. April 10, 2010 fixed for such claims and objections.
The prescribed forms free of cost and draft electoral rolls will be available with the Electoral Registration Officer/ Assistant Registration Officer at their headquarters.
