| Seminar on Quality Teacher Education held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 3: Gandhi Memorial College of Education Raipur, Bantalab Jammu organised Seminar on "Quality Teacher Education in their college premises today. The Minister for Higher Education, Labour & Employment, Abdul Gani Malik was the chief guest inaugurated the function with lightening of traditional lamp. Speaking on the occasion, Malik appreciated the college administration of Gandhi Memorial College of Education which is a unit of Hindu Education Society Kashmir for their best efforts in providing quality education. He said that we are proud of teacher's community who have played a very important role in the field of education and these are the teachers which makes the society quite healthy by way of quality education. Malik further said that parents have their own considerations as compared to their children but the teaching community can guide them properly that in what way their children can get suitable opportunity for their bright future. Qualitative capacity transformation in capacity building in the field of education should be kept in mind. Malik hoped that this college would emerge a model institution of education as compared to other colleges in the state. Regarding their problems, he said that future course of action in this regard will be discussed in due course of time. The Minister inspected the Art Exhibition on Terrorism and Global Warming Principal, Gandhi Memorial College of Education presented welcome address while Meenu Khazanchi presented his paper on "Future challenges of Teacher Education in present Day scenario", Veena Koul make his presentation in Capacity Enhancement among Teacher Trainees and Teacher Educators, Miss Veena Mattoo on Role of ICT in Teacher Education, while Bindu Verma through power point presentation on issues and suggestions on quality teacher education. President, HESK, A.K Dewani, Secretary HESK, Anil Dhar also spoke on the occasion.The Chief Guest also released a News Letter on activity glimpses. The students also presented colourful cultural programme and Member A.K. Raina presented vote of thanks.
