| Sham seeks people's cooperation in developmental activities | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 3: Minister for Health, Horticulture & Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma has sought people's cooperation in implementing various Central Sponsored Schemes so that the benefits of these schemes percolate down to the needy. He said that coalition Government is committed to ensure improved basic facilities to the people of all three regions irrespective of caste, creed and colour. The Minister was addressing a largely attended public meeting at Bhagwati Nagar here today. The Minister said that Government has formulated a well conceived development programme for the all round development of the State and various people friendly schemes have been launched. He said that during the past 14 months, the State has witnessed massive development on all fronts and people are acknowledging the change on ground. Appreciating the Central leadership, especially UPA Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh for according special attention to Jammu and Kashmir for its development, Sham said that State has witnessed a new era of developmental activities. He hoped that State will continue to receive the free flow of funds for completion of all on-going development projects. Taking a dig on those who are not paying electricity bills, the Minister said that State spends huge sum of funds on purchasing of power, but people are not paying their dues, with the result a huge gap of loss is being suffered by the Government every year. He made a humble appeal to all sections of the society to pay their power dues so that Government can improve the power scenario in the State, he added. Responding to the public demands, the Minister said that Government has formulated a proposal to develop Green Belt Park in Bhagwati Nagar area. He said that the land has been identified for the purpose and all formalities will be completed shortly. He also assured that possibilities will be explored to develop a sports stadium in the area. He issued instructions to the officers to ensure proper sanitation in the area.
