| CUs to be constructed at Tulmulla, Samba | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 3: Minister of State for Higher Education, Manohar Lal Sharma today informed the Legislative Council that three sites, for establishments of Centre University in Kashmir, have been proposed to the Government of India, adding that the Central Site Selection Committee has selected the site at Tulmulla, Khurhuma Zarigund and Rakhi-Rabtar, measuring 4000 kanals for the purpose. Replying to a question by Haji Ali Mohammad Bhat, the Minister said that the land from Tulmula, Khurhuma villages also forms part of the selected site. In reply to another question by Syed Mohammad Rafiq Shah, Minister said that the two separate Central Universities are proposed to be established in both the provinces. He said the Site Selection Committee, constituted for the purpose, has already furnished its report to the Centre and final orders are expected at the earliest. The Minister said that no University Campuses have been established, as on date, in any college of district Kupwara, adding that establishment of University Campus at Kupwara and Kargil is under consideration of the Government.
