| District Hospitals to have Critical Care Ambulances: Sham | | | EALRY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 3: Minister for Health, Sham Lal Sharma has said that the Government is contemplating to provide critical ambulances with modernized gadgets to all District Hospitals of the State in a phased manner. He added that Rs 7 crore have been kept for purchase of such ambulances during the current fiscal. Replying to a question by T S Wazir in Legislative Council today, the Minster said that CT-Scan facilities would be provided to all districts in a phased manner. The Minister said that it is a fact that critical care ambulances equipped with modern gadgets, are not available with any of the District Hospital. He, however, said that ambulances, equipped with oxygen facilities, alongwith intravenous infusion facility during transportation are available with District Hospitals. He said the ambulances provided to Sub-District Hospitals and Primary Health Centres are equipped with basic facilities. The Minister said only those cases are being referred to the Medical College Hospitals, which require super specialists and diagnostic interventions. Sham said that all the ICU beds in Government Medical Hospitals, Jammu are equipped with ventilators and monitors. In addition, there are two working ventilators in Emergency Resuscitation Room, he said and added that one working ventilator, in recovery ward of SMGS hospital and one in Cardiology unit of GMC, Jammu are also functioning. Replying to another question by Nurboo Gialchan, the Minister said that 29 ISM doctors have been engaged under Rural Health Mission in Leh district. The Minister said that all the vacant posts of doctors, including those of Leh district have been referred to Public Service Commission and same shall be filled as soon as the select list thereof is received. In reply to another question by Amrit Malhotra, the Minister informed the House that the Health Department has sealed 11 un-authorized clinical establishments in the Jammu division and 22 establishments in the Kashmir division. The Minister said, so far 1533 applications have been received from various persons for registration of Nursing Homes and Clinical Labs. Of these, 1277 registrations have been made, while 223 cases are under process and 33 cases were found deficit of norms and rejected, he added.
