JAMMU, Apr 3: Fifteen members raised various issues of public importance during Zero Hour in the Legislative Council today.
Jehangir Hussain Mir urged the Government for shifting of the people of Mandi in Poonch district, where land is sinking, to other safer place.
Mohammad Rafiq Qureshi demanded restoration of Tata-Pani-Baoli Road in Mendhar tehsil for trade and traffic purposes.
Aga Sayed Ahmed Rizvi, drew attention of the Government towards the distribution of funds and sought equal share under every sector for Kargil district.
Abdul Gani Vakil demanded strict implementation of Government employees transfer policy and immediate replacement of over-stayed Patwaris in Jammu and Srinagar districts.
Subash Chander Gupta, demanded early disbursement of compensation to the land owners of Hiranagar in Kathua district.
M.Y.Taing suggested for constituting a team of experts to incorporate history of J&K in various syllabi of Education Department.
Altaf Ahmed Wani, demanded early payment of outstanding to pony-walla and hotel-wallas, especially by the Health Department on account of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2008-09.
Showkt Hussain Ganai, demanded creation of one more block in Wachi Constituency of Shopian district.
Narbu Gialchan, demanded immediate stocking of essentials and drugs in Ladakh.
Syed Rafiq Ahmad Shah, demanded adequate medicare facilities, transfer of over stayed para-medical staff and checking sale of spurious drugs in Kupwara district.
Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, sought relief on ration card also to labourers and other deserving drought-hit people.
Naresh Kumar Gupta, sought issuance of appointment orders for candidates interviewed under Special Recruitment Drive during 2007 in Doda district.
Haji Ali Mohammad Bhat, sought establishment of sub-offices of various departments in Wakura block in Ganderbal district.
Khalid Najeeb Surahwardy, demanded early work on Doda –Desa-Kapran road to connect two sides of the State.
Javed Ahmed Rana, demanded permanent settlement of tribal people.
