| Dr. Vaid’s checkup, consultations for cancer patients today also | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, APR 3: Minister for Medical & Technical Education, Youth Services & Sports Prof. R. S. Chib expressed his heartiest thanks to World renowned Cancer specialist, Dr. Ashok Vaid, Padamshri recipient for rendering free checkup & consultation service to the Cancer patients in the State, by visiting Jammu every month, sparing valuable time from his engagements world over as super specialized doctor of cancer ailments.
Chib was speaking, while inaugurating second Free Checkup & Consultation Camp for cancer patients organized by Pawan Shastri, President Jammu Yatri Bhawa. Two days free camp for check up & consultation to cancer patients by Dr. Vaid is going on at Hotel Swastik, Gurudwara Sunder Singh Road Jammu. On the first day Dr. Vaid checked up over 100 patients, while 200 patients have got themselves registered for checkup & consultation. During his last visit to Jammu Dr. Vaid, a son of the soil, had given free consultation to 150 patients. Dr. Vaid will checkup the remaining registered patients on Sunday April 4 from 8 A. M. to 12.00 Noon. Chib said that Dr. Vaid has made Jammu proud by achieving great heights & proficiency in the medical science. Chib also congratulated & thanked Pawan Shastri, for organizing free camp every month for cancer patients, providing all the logistic support beside his premises to Dr. Vaid for the purpose. He assured Dr. Vaid as well as Shastri that he, as minister for Medical Education will see to it that all sort of help & assistance is provided to Dr. Vaid as well as Pawan Shastri.
Earlier speaking on the occasion Pawan Shastri & Dr. Vaid said that eventually they plan to set up a center for investigation of cancer patients having all the infrastructure of laboratory. Dr. Vaid assured that he would be visiting with his team of doctors to Jammu every month to render service to the patients in his home State. Dr Vaid is presently Chairman Iconology and Hematology, Medanta Cancer Institute (The Medicity) Gurgaon. Dr. Ashok Vaid, a son of the soil, belonging originally to Bilawar in Kathua District of Jammu has excelled and achieved excellence in treating the Cancer patients all over the country and even abroad. Alumni of Sainik School Nagrota Dr. Vaid got his Medical Degree from GMC Jammu & stated his medical practice in the GMC College & hospital. Later he shifted to New Delhi, where he worked in various capacities.
