| CITU support leather workers demand | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 3: The centre of Indian Trade Unions, (CITU) J&K unit expressed grave concern over the non-implementing the labour laws and miserable condition of the boot and chapple leather workers in the state. Addressing the workers Om Prakash, general secretary of the union has given full support to the agitating workers and urged upon the state government to direct the factory to implement the labour laws with true spirit.
He warned that if the labour laws will not be implemented, state wide agitation will be launched. Joint Secretary of CITU Romesh Chand said that basic facilities should be provided, minimum wage act should be implemented, gratuity, fund, bonus and other benefits may be provided as per the labour laws.
A rally was taken out as a protest against the factory owners who are not implementing labour laws.
