| Congress committed for welfare of OBCs: Soz | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 4: Maintaining that the Congress is the party of masses, the PCC Chief, Saif-ud- Din-Soz has called upon the people to further strengthen its roots to ensure that rights of all especially under privileged classes are protected. Speaking at a function organized in connection with Birth Anniversary of Saint Gora Mehraj at Prajapati Sabha at R.S. Pura Jammu today, Soz said that congress stands for ensuring equal opportunities of development and prosperity in walks of life to the people of low cost sections of the society. The Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education, and Youth Services and Sports, R.S. Chib, Vice Chairman, OBCs Advisory and Devlopment Board, Master Kuldeep Raj Verma, ex MLA and former Minister, Mula Ram ex-MLAs, Dhram Pal and Parkash Sharma and President of Prajipati Bardhari were also present on the occasion. Soz assured that congress party would always strive for the betterment and welfare of the OBCs people in the State and will ensure that due share is provided to them in every sector of development and welfare. He said that demand for raising 2 % reservation quota in favour of OBCs at par to other reserved communities would be actively considered for favorable action. Speaking on the occasion Prof. R.S. Chib announced a grant of Rs. 5 lakh for improvement and up gradation of community hall at R.S. Pura. He said the problems of OBCs people of R.S. Pura area and elsewhere would be solved earnestly by the coalition government. He said the present government is very much concerned about the welfare of the poorest of the poor and all resources would be pooled to improve their lots. Vice Chairman OBCs Advisory Development Board, Master Kuldeep Raj Verma also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the problems of the people of OBCs class. He lauded present government for constituting a OBC Board adding that this reflects present government's sincerity towards OBC classes. Soz and Chib also addressed public gatherings at "Swarn Palace", Maralla in Miran Shaib.
