GD Geonka Public School organizes "Ahvan 2010"

Jammu, Apr 4: GD Goenka School today organized Ahvan , the the annual function of G.D Geonka Public School which was performed in the school campus today
Ahvan means calling the talents of students and to display the same in a wonderful manner. Surjit Singh Slathia, Minister of Industries and Commerce graced the occasion and said that quality education is imperative for overall development of the state and plays an important role in, socio economic development of the people.
Earlier chairman of the school Sh. Deewan Chand Bansal, President Rahul Bansal and directors Sanya Bansal, Sahil Bansal and Varsha Bansal welcomed the chief guest.
Presenting the annual report of the school, Principal Saroj Singh highlighted the achievement of the students in academics, sports and other activities. She appreciated that school had made tremendous progress in all spheres.
The event began with the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest followed significant performances on the stage by the children. On the occasion school students presented thrilling and exciting cultural programmes including folk dances of India.
The cultural programme began with Shiv Stuti and it was followed by VIBGYOR. In VIBGYOR tiny tots showed the influence of colors on our actions and emotions and how people respond to things and ideas. Next item was "Unity in Diversity". Glimpses of different folk dances of India were shown and depicting the unity of India inspite of many diversities. Then there was everlasting and memorable story of every young mind "Cindrella". The students of Class-II enacted this play in a very nice manner. Raslila was worth to be seen. It was really amazing to see the students of KG playing Raslila. It has been rightly said, "All work & no play makes Jack a dull boy". As such there was wonderful performance of martial Arts.
The students staged their physical strength and If mental alertness by breaking piles, of tiles.
Later prizes were distributed to the winners of "Manthan 2010" an open series of competitions organized by the school on March 21, 2010.
Manohar Lal, Mr. & Mr, Jugal Kishore, Badyal, Satish Koul, Sanjay Agarwal was also present in the Annual function of G. D. Goenka Public School, Jammu.
Vote of thanks was given by Neeru Sharma, Co-coordinator of the school.
