| G35 tutorials launch its services in Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 4: Taking inspiration from Bihar's 'Super 60', a researcher of Jammu University and his journalist associate today initiated the G35 tutorials to provide specialised coaching to the students-- of rural and backward sections of society studying in government schools - aspiring for competitive examinations. Suresh Ajay Magotra, a PhD scholar in Chemistry, and his friend Harmeet Singh, a journalist have involved a group of research scholars to fulfill their 'dream of coaching rural children for big competitions'. Inaugurating the G35 tutorials, Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) Chairman Prof Deshbandhu Gupta said the initiative of young scholars would be "revolutionary concept" to enable rural and government school children compete for competitive examinations. The strength of students in one group would be limited to 35 only at G-35 which initially was started in a small roof top accommodation at Digiana locality of the winter capital city. "Out of these 35 students, five belonging to economically weaker sections would be provided coaching absolutely free," Harmeet Singh said, adding the G35 would provide fee back to five best performers of the group to encourage competitive spirit among the students. "We will be organising camps in far flung rural areas of Jammu region to pick up under privileged students studying in government schools,'' Singh said. Asserting it won't be possible to begin the G35 without financial assistance, he said a very reasonable fee structure has been prepared for the students. Students coming from far off areas would also be guided by the G-35 to get accommodation in nearby areas, he added.
