| VKMI bats for revival of SHRC, RTI, SAC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Apr, 5: Vichar Kranti Manch International (regd.) committed to eradicate corruption besides inculcating moral and ethical values in the society reviewed its working and stress was made towards completing membership drive and spread the movement upto the farthest reaches of the state. The members were critical of the inaction of the government in constituting the headless Accountability Commission and bringing government servants out of the purview of the Accountability Commission Act. "It is sorry to say that government is sitting over the explicit directions of the State High Court" activists said and demanded immediate framing of Information Commission with a view to make Right to Information Act as a real asset to the people of J & K rather than a petty tool for public consumption. Members sought initiation of judicial and legal reforms with a view to afford meaningful and comprehensive justice to the common man. They sought immediate constitution of State Human Rights Commission and vesting of coercive powers in it with a view to making it more effective and delivery-oriented. They further lamented that without strong institutional support, resolve against corruption is a sheer farce. They called for strengthening of institutions involved in fighting against corruption, administrative lackadaisicalness and human rights. The meeting was held under chairmanship of Dr. R.R.
