| AJKTWA express shock over heavy losses | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 5: All Jammu and Kashmir Transport Welfare Association (AJKTWA) grief over heavy loses in transport department. Speaking here today in a press conference Anil Chopra chairman minibus association said that, SRO Notification No. 196 dated 30th May 2002 had prescribed entry tax in respect of all India tourist vehicles entering into the state of J&K 2000 per/day. He further said that it only in Jammu and Kashmir sate were the all India tourist vehicle from other states are operating any levy of entry tax, the sates like Punjab levy Rs.3000/- per day per vehicle, Himachal Rs. 10000/- per three trips in one month and additional trip charged Rs. 4000. He further said that, the state in Jammu and Kashmir increased heavy in losses due to no-implementation of notification 30.05.2002, he clamed that most of the vehicles operating in the state without valid documents, casing transporters chaos and confusion among the transporters of the state. He added that if he tax notified by the government has not been implemented, we are bound to go for strike and jam in the national highway.
