Udhampur, Apr 5: Senior congress leader and councilor of ward number 1 has shown deep concern over the discrepancies in voters' list being updated for forthcoming Municipal election here in Udhampur district. Addre-ssing a press conference here he alleged that during updating of these electroral rolls fake names are being inducted by putting nominally identifications without making proper verification in this regard by agencies which is quite amazing . He also alleged that all this is being done on the direction of particular political party who did bungling in assembly election to win election .
He alleged discrepancies in voter list being updated for municipal elections and has demanded strict action against district officials concerned who were responsible for the preparation and updating of voters' lists in the district without making proper verification .He added that he has met with Deputy Commi-ssioner in this regard and has apprised about all this who has assured action. He also demanded election of municipality as per the voter list of 2005 . He added that no identification of Panch , Srapanch or concerned ward member was put during updation of voter list of wards but fake identification o were put to include fake names in list .
He demanded proper updating of lisit for forthcoming Municipal election so that genuine candidates could be elected .
He also appeal voters to vote cautiously in favour of educated and honest voters and check there contribution towards society and area before casting votes in favour of candidate so that Udhampur could be developed . He also appeal them to vote in favour of genuine and honest beside voting in favour of candidates having criminal backgrounds |
