| Shiv Sena hails govt. decision to postpone MC elections | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 7: Shiv Sena Hindustan has hailed the decision of the state government to postpone the local bodies' election correcting the electoral rolls for free and fair elections, today. In a media interaction addressed jointly by its state president Dimpy Kohli and spokesperson Ramesh Kak, it was stated that the public of Jammu was also not interested to cast the votes due to the negligence of the government and some vested interested people. It was further said that voter identity cards should be provided to every voter to cast vote. Shiv Sena Hindustan has demanded that the preparing of voter list should be out sourced as two reputed companies like Bharat Electronics Limited and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which are registered with the Government of India for the purpose. It also demanded an enquiry for alleged discrepancies in the voter lists. On the occasion the Shiv Sena leaders informed that they will call on Chief Electoral Officer and DC and other concerned authorities to implement all other clauses of the Municipal Act to ensure the transparency in the working and spending of funds by the municipality.
