Soon after the Department took up the task of cleaning of these canals, desilting and repairing of aquaducts on war footing resulting in availability of 700 cusecs of more water for irrigation this season. Only last month Taj visited the entire 69 kilometre stretch of the Ranbir Canal to oversee the repairs and cleaning process. He had directed the engineers to complete the repairs by the first week of April. Following this, water has been released in these canals.
