| NSS celebrated World Health Day | | |

JAMMU, Apr 7:The NSS unit of ASCOMS and Hospital celebrated the World Health Day-2010 with the purpose of better awareness of medical students and para- medical staff of the institution. NSS volunteers of pre-final year under the supervision of Dr R.N. Dubey organised and conducted the seminar. The theme of WHO this year is "Be part of global movement to make cities healthier".
On this occasion, Sh Mubarak Singh, Municipal Commissioner, Jammu Municipality was the chief guest. Inaugural address was given by Dr A Kumar, Director Principal of the Institution. A total of 17 medical students took part in the poster competition. Youshita, Aarushi and Nadir bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively. Later, in a seminar on urbanisation and health Dr V.K Bhan, Dr TR Raina and Dr Tanvir as resource persons made their presentations. A lecture and demonstration on yoga was also presented by Dr Anil Yogi.
Abhishek, Akif, Rajdeep, Arashdeep, Apeksha,Manan and Nikita were among the participants of today's functions.
