| 15 HDFC placement orders handed over to Commerce College students | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 7: Minister for Higher Education Abdul Gani Malik today asked the unemployed youth to explore job avenues in multinational companies for dignified livelihood. The Minister was speaking at a function held here today to handover placement orders among the students of SPMR Commerce College, Jammu. The Commissioner Secretary, Higher Education, N.K. Verma, Principal of SPMR Commerce College, Jammu Prof. (Dr) Hemla Aggrawal, Territory Manager of HDFC Standard Life Insurance Company, Baljit Dhaka and faculty members of the college were also present on the occasion. The Minister distributed 15 placement orders in favour of 15 students of SPMR College of Commerce, Canal Road, Jammu in HDFC Standard Life Insurance Company Ltd. Malik said that Government has launched number of State and Centrally Sponsored Employment Schemes to improve the socio-economic condition of the unemployed youth of the State. He appealed the educated youth to avail the benefits of these schemes by opening self employment ventures. The Minister lauded the Principal, SPMR Commerce College, Jammu for her best efforts in providing quality education to the students by dint of which the students of the college qualified for their placement in the HDFC Standard Life Insurance Company. He also congratulated the candidates who received placement orders on the occasion. Malik advised the students to gain full knowledge in their job field. He said that youth of the State have great potential in every field including co-curricular activities and can compete on national and international level. Maintaining that computer education was equally imperative in view of the vast scope available in Information Technology, the Minister called upon the unemployed youth and students to acquaint themselves with the computer knowledge for availing job opportunities in national and multi-national companies. Prof Aggarwal in her welcome address informed the Minister that the candidates who have been placed in the select list in the HDFC Standard Life Insurance Company would get Rs. 2 lakh contract yearly in the said company. The candidates who have been selected for placement in the company include Arun Mathur B.Com, Rohit Gupta B. Com, Akshit Mahajan B. Com, Pallav Kumar Mohan BBA, Shevata Matoo BBA, Tushar Sawhney, BBA, Rohit Shara BBA, Sumit Sharma BBA, Lalit Hans BBA, Rohit Mahajan BBA, Atif Malik BBA, Ararsal Jamwal BBA, Archana Gupta BBA, Davinder Singh of BBA and Reevo Gulati BBA.
