EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 8: Youth Movement for Peace observed 'World Health Day' by organizing a two days awareness programme on health and hygiene in Naveen Academy, village Nai Basti. Nihaal Singh, sarpanch, of the village, Vikas Sharma, chairman, YMP), Bansa Lal, Principal, Naveen Academy and Amarnath, panch Nai Basti were also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Vikas Sharma said, "Indian food is more nutritious as compared to that of junk food. So we should take nutritious and balanced diet to remain healthy." He also encouraged the students to participate in Games and Sports as it keeps us physically fit and not only this a sound mind always resides in a sound body. He further said, "Impure water is the root cause of many harmful things like stomach disorder, dysentery, hepatitis, diarrhea, kidney and heart disease. The condition of drinking and surrounding water of village Nai Basti is not so good. The impurity level of the water of that area is 431 parts per million (ppm) and the water with such impurity level is injurious to health." Principal of the school and other people of the village appreciated this awareness program and they expected more programs of this kind to be organized by YMP in their village. Raj Veer, Rekha Sharma, general secretary, YMP, Ranjana Sharma, vice-chairman, YMP), Shashi Devi, Sumita Bhagat, Geeta, GD Singh, Sukhdev, Sachin and Aashita Dheer were also present on this occasion.
