| Strictly follow SRO 154: HC orders BOPEE | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 8: The High Court has directed the J&K Board of Professional Entrance (BOPEE) to strictly abide by the terms and conditions of SRO 154 while conducting the counselling for allocation of disciplines to MD/MS/MDS courses. The order was passed by Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir after hearing the arguments of Advocate G A Lone, who appeared as counsel for the petitioners, including Dr Zabiullah Sagar, Dr Ishtiyaq Ahmed, Dr Nusrat Ali Bhat, Dr Abdul Gani Bhat, Dr Javeed Ahmed Javeed, Dr Samir Ali and Dr Sunil Kumar. In the petition filed, the petitioners had mentioned that they applied for admission to PG course and thereafter having been selected in respective categories (rural service category) but were not being allotted disciplines to which they are entitled. The petitioners contended that in violation of SRO 154 they were being deprived of getting appropriate discipline by the respondents, i.e., JKBOPEE. It is pertinent to mention here that SRO 154 has a provision that in case sufficient number of reserved seats is not available to accommodate all the reserved categories in a selection process, the available reserved seats shall be rotated in such a manner that all reserved categories get their due share in phased manner. In this regard, a running roaster of 35 seats is to be maintained and followed till the same gets exhausted.
