| Khoda reviews security scenario | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 8: The Director General of Police (DGP), Kuldeep Khoda today took stock of the security scenario in the valley and reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir Police will meet the challenges of terrorism with courage and fortitude in the State. He said that people of the State have high expectations from the Police and we will come up to their expectations. Khoda was speaking at a meeting of senior police officers held at Police Control Room Srinagar, this morning. He said that peace is pre-requisite for progress and prosperity of the State and Jammu and Kashmir Police with other security agencies is determined to eradicate militancy from grass roots level. He said that there is need to win the trust of people by displaying true professionalism. In the days to come, JKP will be taking on higher responsibility of maintaining peace to ensure free flow of tourists during the summer season, he added. During the meeting, the DGP stressed upon the officers to maintain close vigil on the activities of anti-social elements who always try to disrupt the normal life for their vested interests. The meeting expressed satisfaction over the recent successful operations against militants in different parts of the State. The DGP lauded the role of jawans and officers of the force, who took part in these operations at the stake of their lives. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police will encourage its personnel, who play vital role in anti-militancy operations, avoid collateral damages and save life and property of the people during the operations. Earlier, the Inspector General of Police (Kashmir Zone), Farooq Ahmed apprised the meeting about the latest law and order scenario in the valley.
